Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The File Custodian's primary responsibility is to handle all duties tied to management and maintenance of the Bank's loan file room and file deliveries. This position supports various areas of the Bank that maintain physical loan files, and may be called upon to support in special projects related to the file room.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned. Responsible for general maintenance and organization of the Bank's file room. Works within the file log software (as available) to maintain a current list of files. Maintains physical possession of original loan files for assigned divisions. Responsible for ensuring all collateral files are properly stored and secured on a daily basis. Handles all daily file pickup and delivery requests on a daily basis. Maintains documents in respective files and ensures that all files are in order upon return from other employees. Responsible for timely new file creation and/or labeling, as relevant. Handles all interfiling requests, as requested. Have direct interaction with both internal and external auditors upon management's request. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by management. Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.). Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training. Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
EDUCATION HS
Diploma or General Education Degree [GED] required
EXPERIENCE
of related experience or equivalent, preferably within the financial services industry required
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Candidates residing in locations within BankUnited's footprint may be given preference.
