Sanitation Worker

At Engelman's Bakery, we take pride in crafting delicious, high-quality baked goods that bring joy to our community. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Worker to help us maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment. This is a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and food safety.

Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize all bakery equipment, surfaces, floors, and tools according to company procedures and food safety standards. Remove trash and recycling, ensuring proper disposal and maintaining a clean environment. Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Use cleaning chemicals safely and correctly. Assist with pest control measures as needed. Maintain accurate cleaning logs and checklists. Support the production team by ensuring the work environment is safe and hygienic. Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food production sanitation or janitorial work preferred but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be physically capable of rapid movement to all areas of the plant Must be able to climb stairs and fixed portable ladders Ability to crawl under and climb onto machinery and equipment Willingness to work in a warm/cold and sometimes noisy environment. Basic understanding of sanitation practices and food safety (training provided). Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Schedule:

Combination of days Monday-Sunday with 2 days off during the week unless overtime is required. 8-hour shifts except for Saturdays when the bakery is down then it can be up to a 12-hour shift.

From $16.00 per hour
