Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Part Time Custodian and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. As a custodian, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks that support the smooth operation of our organization. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering to all safety protocols and handling instructions. Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, window washing, and surface sanitization to maintain cleanliness standards. Assist with light maintenance duties including minor repairs, painting, and facilities upkeep to support overall building operations. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks like moving furniture or cleaning equipment while following safe lifting practices. Operate floor care machinery such as buffers and polishers to ensure floors are well-maintained and visually appealing. Support industrial or commercial cleaning projects that may involve specialized cleaning agents or procedures as needed. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred. Familiarity with handling chemical agents safely during cleaning operations. Experience operating floor buffers, polishers, or other custodial equipment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs and painting is a plus. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe practices. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure all cleaning duties are completed efficiently and thoroughly.
