JOB SUMMARY

To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED Meet physical requirements: Able to lift heavy loads not to exceed 50 lbs. Able to climb and work from ladder, scaffolding, or personnel lift Able to stand and walk for long periods of time Training and experience in mechanics, heating, plumbing, carpentry, electricity and painting desired Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports Work experience in educational setting preferred Fireman or engineer license preferred Valid Iowa drivers and/or chauffeurs license required Possess collaborative and interpersonal skills Successful completion of a criminal background check and physical capacity profile test will be required upon offer.

This includes:

Cleaning and maintaining all equipment as assigned Assisting in necessary painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general mechanical areas Assisting in remodeling and renovation work Reporting major repairs or damage to school property promptly to the Building Head Custodian, Principal or Director of Buildings and Grounds Performing emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary Assisting in emergency evacuation situations Locking of doors and windows of assigned building(s) Cleaning corridors during the day when conditions require it Participates in the general maintenance of the school grounds.

This includes:

Assisting in snow removal Assists in the moving of classroom furniture, materials, and equipment when need arises Provides input in setting daily schedules and demonstrates initiative in getting duties completed in a timely manner Duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor may vary from time to time

Work Hours:

3:30 pm to 11:30 pm
