Good Neighbor Society Maintenance Job Description Overview of Role / Essential Job Functions The primary purpose of this job position is to maintain the facility in good repair and ensure systems are in compliance with applicable safety and fire regulations and federal, state, and local building codes to ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Resident Rights/ Safety and Sanitation/ Staff Development Resident Rights Knows and respects patient rights. Ensures all protected health information is kept confidential. Reports all complaints made by patients to supervisor. Reports all allegations of resident abuse, neglect and/or misappropriation of patient properly. Safety and Sanitation Follows established safety policies and procedures. Observes safety needs of patient as indicated in care plan. Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated and properly trained to use. Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations. Staff Development Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes and meetings. The Seasonal Grounds & Landscape Assistant supports the maintenance and appearance of the CCRC's outdoor spaces. This role helps ensure safe, clean, and attractive grounds for residents, staff, and visitors by assisting with routine lawn care and landscaping tasks. Key Responsibilities Mow lawns, trim edges, and assist with general lawn maintenance Weed garden beds and landscaped areas Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees Rake leaves, remove debris, and keep walkways clean and safe Assist with mulching and seasonal landscape projects Maintain cleanliness of outdoor common areas and courtyards Operate basic landscaping tools and equipment safely Follow safety procedures and respect residents' living environment Other duties as assigned by Grounds or Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications 18 years or older preferred Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation Basic knowledge of lawn care or landscaping preferred, but not required Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Professional, respectful demeanor when working around residents The Seasonal Grounds & Landscape Assistant supports the maintenance and appearance of GNS's outdoor spaces. Physical Demands Lifting 60 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, moving, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 60 pounds; Exerting considerable force frequently, and/or intermediate force constantly to move objects and residents. Reaching, handling, talking, hearing, visual near acuity, bending, stooping, and walking. Working Conditions/ Principal Contacts Working conditions Both inside and outside including wet and humid conditions; also includes working in conditions involving noise and vibration. Principal Contacts Works with elderly residents, families, and other health care staff members General Requirements Must be able to execute the terms and conditions set forth in the Good Neighbor Society Handbook, including, but not limited to: Works in a safety-conscious manner, which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. Reports any safely violations or hazards to supervisor. Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. Adheres to policy on Drug-Free Workplace Interacts in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment which ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights and physical safety of each resident and facility guest. Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
