JOB TITLE
•Student Custodial Worker
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
•Support the maintainance of cleaning the school location and upholding a hygenic and sanitized environment to ensure safety of educational staff and students. Please review the UCSD Actions of Excellence to gain an understanding of the expectations for UCSD employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
•(Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education, Certification/Licensure, Experience, Equipment) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of effective and efficient cleaning procedures. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Knowledge of basic district custodial operations. Knowledge of the fire drill regulations and procedures. Knowledge of emergency procedures and problem solving. Ability to follow written and visual instructions. Ability to relate effectively with other students, faculty, parents, and other staff members. Ability to use technology effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Clean designated area per the assigned schedule. Provide support in ongoing maintenance. Maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents, and the community. Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner. Maintain confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS
•None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work overhead. Ability to work standing and moving for long periods of tiem. Ability to work an irregular schedule. Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working. Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids. Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS
•Ability to work in extreme and/or inclement weather. Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, hazardous materials, and emergency situations. Occupational hazards, which might include the possibility of being exposed to noise, dust, burns from chemicals, and possible strains from improper lifting.
