Job Description
Lead Custodian Do you take pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming spaces? Are you a hands-on team player who can also step into a leadership role? We're looking for a Lead Custodian to help keep Kootenai County facilities running smoothly while guiding a dedicated custodial team. Maintain County buildings in a clean, orderly, and professional condition. Sweep, mop, vacuum, wax, and buff floors. Clean and sanitize restrooms, windows, and common areas. Handle heavy-duty cleaning like carpet shampooing and wall washing. Safely mix and use cleaning solutions and chemicals. Perform light maintenance such as changing light bulbs. Assign tasks and provide day-to-day directions to staff. Assist with hiring and training new team members. Inspect work to ensure quality standards are met. Help schedule shifts and maintain team coverage. Order, track, and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment. Coordinate special projects like deep cleans and seasonal tasks. Communicate regularly with team members and management. Work a swing shift that overlaps with both day and night crews. High school diploma or GED At least 6 months of custodial or related experience (lead experience is a plus) Knowledge of cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals. Ability to work independently and lead a team when needed. Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs with or without assistance. A valid driver's license.Why You'll Love Working Here:
