Job Description

Salary Range:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Hours:
Saturday and/or Sunday evenings 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction, performs a variety of tasks required to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the Pavilion and other Elk Grove Park District facilities including outside bathrooms at various parks. Hours vary according to shift and can change as workload requires. May be required to work some holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment both inside and outside of the Pavilion and other facilities as assigned Open and close buildings and disarm alarms. Walk through for safety and security checks. Check the daily building schedule for all activities to be held for that day. Set-up and break down for functions. Open all doors as needed for instructors and customers. Set up a room as needed. Ensure that programs are running smoothly and that customers are served above and beyond their expectations. Report work order and maintenance needs. Complete and submit daily task sheets and other reports as needed to the Pavilion Maintenance Supervisor Performs general custodial duties. Prepare rooms for classes and programs. Reports and takes action to correct unsafe conditions in buildings. Ability to learn and physically perform tasks related to the general cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of buildings to ready them for recreational programming. Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Operates park district vehicles and special equipment as required after receiving and passing district training on vehicles/equipment. Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Answer questions and concerns from customers by providing information and directions. Assist in providing First Aid to patrons injured at the facility, including calling 911, if necessary.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to handle chemicals and equipment and comply with safety procedures. Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions. Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees. Physical agility to maintain mobility from location to location. Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Exposures to chemicals, hazardous voltage, dust, fumes and loud noises. Exposure to heights and confined spaces. Manual dexterity required for frequent manipulation of trade tools. Subject to modified/flexible work schedules. Must work closely with coworkers and the general population Must work under supervision and direction of supervisors. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to work in stressful situations and to respond quickly and accurately to emergency situations. Must be able to perform essential job functions. Must use good judgment and be safety conscientious.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work assigned schedule Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions Work independently under minimal supervision. Ability to possess a valid State of Illinois driver's license, if the supervisor deems it necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
