Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in assigned areas. Maintain floors through buffing and polishing to ensure they are clean and presentable. Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with environmental regulations. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify cleaning needs or maintenance issues. Assist with custodial duties in both commercial and residential settings as required. Support facilities maintenance efforts by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly. Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly. Collaborate with team members to achieve efficient workflow and high standards of cleanliness. Qualifications Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment, including buffing machines. Experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments is a plus. Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks is beneficial. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions effectively. Good physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may require lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds. A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the workplace.
