Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform custodial duties, including setups, snow removal, and major project work throughout all College buildings in accordance with established College policy and procedures. Dry and wet mop, strip, wax, and buff all types of floors. Vacuum carpet, spot clean, shampoo and extract on an assigned basis. Clean and dust furniture, blinds and other surfaces, polish as needed. Perform restroom and locker room cleaning and disinfection. Interior and exterior window washing. Waste removal and proper disposal of waste materials. Set up and move furniture for classes, conferences and events, and relocation. Work various shifts and schedules. Other related duties as assigned. May drive College vehicles to transport items across campus. Power wash sidewalks, bleachers and exterior furniture. Snow removal using snow blower or shovel.
Qualifications:
Education High school graduate or equivalent. Experience Positive one year work history required. Two years custodial experience preferred. COD Training Compliance- DCFS reporter/Discrimination and Harassment/Ethics/Information SecurityBloodborne PathogensHazardous CommunicationsForklift /Scissor /
Aerial LiftElectrical Safety Working Conditions:
Walk-behind/stand-on/ride-on automatic floor machines, carpet/furniture extraction equipment, buffers/orbital floor machines, upright vacuum cleaners, mops, shovels, snowblowers, various cleaning chemicals, other miscellaneous equipment. Walking for long periods of time, standing, bending. Climbing/cleaning stairs, ladders, lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to see and hear at normal levels. Employee will work scheduled shift, as directed, to meet existing and changing needs of the Custodial Department. Shift schedules will change from time to time depending on production requirements established by Campus Services Department. Valid driver's license required. Must pass physical exam, drug test, and background check at College expense.
