Join Adkev Adkev, a leader in precision injection molding and manufacturing, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mold Cleaner at our Harwood Heights, IL facility. Our tooling and mold maintenance team plays a critical role in supporting production quality, efficiency, and uptime by ensuring molds are properly cleaned, maintained, inspected, and stored. Position Summary The Mold Cleaner is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, reassembling, and storing injection molds and related fixtures used in production. This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring molds are maintained in optimal condition, properly cataloged, and readily available to meet production requirements. The Mold Cleaner works closely with tooling, setup, and production personnel to maintain mold readiness, support preventative maintenance efforts, and uphold Adkev's commitment to safety, quality, and IATF standards. Key Responsibilities Disassemble molds and fixtures for cleaning, inspection, and maintenance activities Inspect molds for damaged components including springs, ejector pins, cores, cams, and water passages Clean, repair, and reassemble molds according to established procedures and quality standards Ensure molds are properly labeled, cataloged, and stored in designated locations Assign and document storage locations for new molds entering inventory Prepare molds for shipment by removing water fittings and securing molds for transport Inspect and reclean incoming molds before returning them to production Coordinate with production personnel regarding mold availability and readiness Maintain inventory of mold room supplies including grease, cleaners, mold protectants, fittings, springs, and related materials Assist in training and educating new Set-Up Preps and Set-Up Technicians on mold room procedures Maintain certifications and proficiency on required equipment and job functions Support housekeeping and 5S initiatives throughout the tooling and mold room areas Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements Adhere to Adkev, Inc.'s policies, procedures, instructions, and No Fault Attendance Policy Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of one year of production technician experience at Adkev or related manufacturing experience preferred Experience working in a manufacturing, tooling, maintenance, or mold environment preferred Overhead crane experience preferred Experience operating large equipment preferred Ability to obtain and maintain required equipment certifications, including pallet jack and overhead crane operation Basic math skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts up to 12 hours Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis Ability to work above shoulder level for extended periods Ability to climb step stools and safely perform all job functions Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and use required personal protective equipment What We Offer Competitive total compensation package Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Paid vacation and holidays 401(k) with company match Opportunities for professional growth and development Tuition reimbursement program A collaborative and values-driven workplace About Adkev, Inc.
