REQUIREMENTS
Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the basic principles of cleaning, routine and preventive maintenance; Knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, building fixtures and equipment. Ability to plan and allocate the work of others effectively Ability to make sound decisions and provide proactive leadership Ability to communicate clearly and effectively Ability to function in a fast-paced environment Conscientious and self-motivated, strong work ethic Background in any of the trades desirable Ability to learn and properly utilize various machines/equipment especially as machines/equipment is upgraded; Ability to plan, train and provide work direction to others in a manner that is conducive to full performance and high morale of the employee; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators and staff. Must be able to respond to emergencies and work in inclement weather, as needed;
RESPONSIBILITIES
Train new and existing staff regarding proper safety procedures and cleaning methods; Facilitate the custodial training program for all new custodial employees; provide ongoing training as needed. Train staff with safe proper use of equipment (scrubbers, extractors, carpet cleaners, etc.); Promote and reinforce a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout building; Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, paper products, PPE, and janitorial equipment; Coordinate staff resources to accommodate setups for athletics, activities, and other events; Supervise and manage employee time cards, vacation and sick time; Maintain a maintenance schedule for scrubbers, vacuums and related equipment; Organize work schedules, projects, and setups for weekend and holiday shifts; Communicate with Building & Grounds Director regarding employee issues, work schedules, and maintenance concerns; Coordinate with Security staff to ensure building security and safety; Required technology skills, including Google Suite applications and basic internet navigation. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable with using communication and collaboration tools such as or similar to FMX (facilities and maintenance management platform). Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SALARY & BENEFITS
