PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must pass pre-placement agility/fit for duty exam with
MOHA REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor's Degree preferred Ability to complete assigned duties with minimum supervision Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written directions Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with staff, students, parents, and the public Be punctual and regular in attendance Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required. Must pass a background check
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Dust and wipe down desks, tables, windowsills, lockers, and other surfaces throughout the building Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, gym, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the school building Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and notify administration when inventory is low Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for meetings, summer programs, trainings, and special events Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, railings, light switches, and shared equipment Operate custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners safely and effectively Support deep-cleaning projects during the summer months, including stripping and waxing floors Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly after use Report building maintenance concerns, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or structural issues Assist with unloading and organizing custodial and maintenance supplies when deliveries arrive Maintain safe walkways and entrances by removing debris and monitoring for hazards Follow all district safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and proper chemical handling procedures Work cooperatively with staff to maintain a clean learning environment Secure assigned areas by ensuring doors and windows are properly checked when necessary Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in classrooms and offices Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic throughout the assignment period Perform other duties as assigned
