Job Description
Job Overview The custodian shall provide an atmosphere which is safe and conducive to learning, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and perform minor, preventive maintenance on items of equipment. He/she shall bring to the attention of the Building Principal or Director of Maintenance any major problems which may require extensive work or special attention by an outside agency. What you'll do Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Execute floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing to maintain pristine surfaces. Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and report any issues promptly. Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to promote sustainability within the facility. Collaborate with team members to ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stocked. Provide porter services by assisting with moving furniture or equipment as required for events or maintenance. Support industrial cleaning efforts during special projects or emergencies to uphold safety standards. Basic qualifications Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles with a strong focus on cleanliness and organization. Preferred qualifications Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment. Experience in facilities maintenance or related fields. Knowledge of safety protocols related to cleaning chemicals and equipment usage.
