Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks across our facilities. Your efforts will ensure that our spaces are hygienic, well-maintained, and visually appealing for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold cleanliness standards. Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and appropriate floor care techniques to ensure a polished appearance. Conduct janitorial tasks such as restroom sanitation, replenishing supplies, and ensuring hygiene compliance. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks including light repairs, painting touch-ups, and reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Utilize industrial cleaning equipment for large-scale cleaning projects in commercial or industrial settings. Support custodial operations by organizing supplies, restocking cleaning materials, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to promote a safe environment for yourself and others. Qualifications Previous custodial or janitorial experience is highly preferred; familiarity with commercial or industrial cleaning is a plus. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing. Experience with general facilities maintenance or residential painting is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers and industrial vacuums safely and effectively. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently. Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout the shift.
