Residential Custodial Steward Terre Haute, IN, United States | req763 Apply Now Share Save Job Posted on: 6/9/2026 Back to Search Residential Custodial Steward Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is seeking a dedicated Residential Custodial Steward to join its Student Affairs team. This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming residential and institutional spaces across campus. As a Residential Custodial Steward, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, sanitized, and orderly. Duties include performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces in restrooms, lounges, living spaces, hallways, and other campus facilities. You will also manage inventory by receiving and restocking cleaning supplies, including chemical and paper dispensers for public and residential use. In addition to facility care, this role emphasizes meaningful interaction with students—coordinating room cleaning schedules, fostering a positive and inclusive residential environment, and maintaining open communication with Residence Life staff to support student needs and concerns. Delivering excellent customer service and contributing to a safe, healthy campus community are essential aspects of this role. This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the student experience in a collaborative and mission-driven environment. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, along with one to two years of relevant work experience. A strong attention to detail is preferred. The selected candidate must successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including a background check and physical ability assessment. Pay Range is $13.50/hour - $14.50/hour. Pay is competitive.
