Full Time Custodian

Custodian responsibilities center on maintaining clean, safe, and orderly environments. Core duties include facility cleaning (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing restrooms), managing cleaning supply inventory, performing routine preventative maintenance, and securing buildings. They also handle minor repairs, event setups, and exterior property maintenance.

Facility Cleaning & Sanitation Surface Care:

Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors; polishing furniture and washing windows.

Restrooms:

Cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking supplies (soap, paper towels).

Waste Management:

Emptying trash and recycling bins throughout the building and preparing waste for proper disposal.

Specialized Cleaning:

Stripping/waxing floors, shampooing carpets, and changing HVAC filters.

Building Maintenance & Security Routine Checks:

Inspecting facilities to ensure all areas are secure, opening and locking doors as needed.

Repairs & Upgrades:

Performing minor maintenance like replacing light bulbs, unstopping sinks, or fixing furniture.

Hazard Reporting:

Identifying and reporting larger maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.

Operations & Event Support Supply Management:

Keeping a detailed inventory of cleaning supplies and ordering replacements to avoid shortages.

Event Setup:

Arranging tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings or special events.

Exterior Maintenance:

Sweeping entryways, clearing snow or debris from walkways, and maintaining the immediate grounds.

Health, Safety & Compliance Chemical Safety:

Following strict procedures for handling, mixing, and storing cleaning chemicals and power machinery.

Regulatory Compliance:

Adhering to health codes and maintaining documentation like Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
