Job Description Serve as a working leader responsible for coordinating and monitoring custodial staff and custodial services at assigned campus. Perform, schedule, and implement routine cleaning duties and maintenance procedures to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations and grounds. Ad to federal and state laws, as well as, district policies, procedures and regulations, including the Physical Plant Handbook. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Complies with the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession; upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives, regulations, GISD school board policies, as well as local, state and federal regulations including the Physical Plant Handbook. Follow routine cleaning and disinfecting schedules and maintenance procedures to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations; perform routine cleaning duties as part of the custodial team. Lead and coordinate the work of assigned custodial personnel under his/her supervision, ensuring that assigned duties arepleted on schedule and are done well within the area(s) assigned. Maintain custodial equipment by following the Routine Cleaning Procedures and Quarterly Equipment Inspections defined in the Physical Plant Handbook and alsopletes the Quarterly Building Inspection Form. Implement and maintain established schedules and procedures for routine custodial care, maintenance of grounds and campus facilities as needed, and make custodial assignment changes, as needed. Conduct daily walk-thru of campus buildings and facilities to ensure properpletion of all custodial and minor maintenance duties. Perform minor maintenance. Install/refill soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers. Monitor and maintain cleanliness of electrical and mechanical rooms and report malfunctions to the Maintenance Department. Identify and correct unsafe conditions and report any major repair needs that are not correctable to the Maintenance Department. Direct and assist with the cleaning and refinishing of floors, moving of furniture, set up of facilities for school events, changing light bulbs, and other support operations. Respond to intrusion and fire alarm calls after-hours (Compensated) Oversee procedures for securing, checking and safeguarding facilities; check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and working properly during hours of building occupancy. Provide training and orientation to assigned custodial staff on proper and safe use of tools, equipment and chemicals;ply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and chemicals. Submit maintenance work order requests and order equipment and supplies through established procedures; maintain accurate records of inventory to satisfactorilyplete required tasks. Direct and monitor the work of custodial staff at campus and conduct annual performance evaluations. Participate in and ensure site custodians trim grass and shrubs, water campus grounds, pick up of trash and litter, empty trash cans as directed by the Supervisor of Custodial Services or designee, blow and/or power wash leaves and debris in from sidewalks, entrances and courtyards. Wear only custodial uniforms that are in good condition, as provided by G.I.S.D., and ensure that all custodians under his/her supervision also wear uniforms and that such uniforms are in good condition. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job. Maintain accurate time sheets and have them approved by designee. Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, integrity, cooperation and efficient use of time in the performance of assigned duties. Participate in professional development activities/trainings, as required by the district/department. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support the goals of the district/department and follow district policies and procedures. Checks district email daily and ensures custodians also check their district email daily. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned. Enters work orders for repair and maintenance.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees custodians at individual campus/site level. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) One (1) year supervisory experience; Three (3) years verifiable experience in custodial services Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building maintenance. Meet deadlines with severe time constraints.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid New Mexico or Texas driver's license; to be insurable by the district auto liability insurance carrier; subject to the district drug and alcohol testing policy and regulation. Supplemental InformationTECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work near or with moving mechanical equipment.
