Role:
The Janitor Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and order within various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This position supports the janitorial team by performing routine cleaning tasks, handling waste disposal, and assisting with the upkeep of building interiors and exteriors. The role requires attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying areas that need maintenance or cleaning. The Janitor Assistant contributes to the overall operational efficiency by ensuring that all assigned areas meet health and safety standards. Ultimately, this position helps create a positive impression for visitors and staff by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas following proper procedures. Assist with cleaning restrooms, replenishing supplies, and maintaining sanitary conditions. Support the janitorial team in setting up and breaking down furniture or equipment as needed for events or maintenance. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the manager promptly.
