Job Title:
Ultraviolet Environmental Services Technician Job Description The Ultraviolet Environmental Services Technician performs daily cleaning and disinfection of patient and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and other assigned spaces in accordance with established Environmental Services procedures and facility standards. This role also operates and monitors the Xenex disinfection machine or similar ultraviolet equipment to support a safe, hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff while providing courteous, customer-focused service. Will be working in a hospital enviornment that's clean and climate controlled.Shift:
7am - 3:30pm or 3pm - 11:30pm. Willingness to work every other weekend on a rotating schedule.Pay:
$16.50/hour to start Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks in patient and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and other assigned areas following Environmental Services Department procedures and facility standards. Operate and execute disinfection cycles using the Xenex disinfection machine or similar ultraviolet disinfection equipment according to established protocols and safety guidelines. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance in all assigned areas to support a safe and comfortable environment. Follow hospital and facility policies, procedures, and objectives related to environmental services, infection prevention, and safety. Use appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and equipment to clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures, and high-touch areas. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, residents, visitors, and staff while performing cleaning duties in occupied areas. Greet guests and patients in a friendly, professional manner and ask about their stay or if they need any assistance. Respond to customer requests and concerns regarding room cleanliness or environmental conditions and escalate issues when necessary. Report any maintenance, safety, or equipment issues observed in assigned areas to the appropriate personnel. Adhere to all safety guidelines and infection control practices while handling cleaning materials and operating disinfection equipment. Work collaboratively with other Environmental Services team members and hospital staff to meet cleaning schedules and service expectations. Work Environment This role is based on-site in a modern, climate-controlled medical center in Olathe. You work in a clean, professional healthcare facility with established environmental services procedures and access to specialized equipment such as the Xenex ultraviolet disinfection machine or similar devices. The environment involves regular interaction with patients, residents, visitors, and hospital staff while moving between rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, and clinic areas. Standard hospital and environmental services attire is expected to support cleanliness, safety, and a professional appearance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
