Job Description
The mission of Southern University and A&M College, an Historically Black, 1890 land-grant institution, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is to provide a student-focused teaching and learning environment that creates global leadership opportunities for a diverse student population where teaching, research, service, scholarly and creative expectations for students and faculty are achieved through the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs offered at the institution via different instructional modalities and via public service. This Custodian Supervisor A ensures the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of university campus buildings and is located at the F.G. Clark Activity Center. Two years of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

Job Duties:
Oversee the Facility Custodial team Delegate responsibilities, set goals and objectives, and schedule work and assignments for the facility custodial team Supervise and inspect the performance of custodial staff Keep and maintain time and attendance records Serves as lead custodian by providing training, guidance, and assistance to custodial staff Solve custodial staff problems and concerns when any arise Assist with or perform evaluations of custodial team Other duties as directed by Supervisor or Director Develop plans and strategies to maintain the cleanliness of facilities Issue cleaning supplies, equipment, keys, etc. to custodial staff Conduct routine maintenance and equipment inspections, and ensure equipment is in proper working order Ensure safety standards and policies are followed Perform inventory management, s ecure supplies, sign for deliveries, and ensure order correctness Report building repairs and maintenance as needed to Maintenance department and Director Drives agency vehicles to transport custodial workers, equipment, supplies, and paperwork as needed.
