Title:
Day to Day Custodian Substitute
FUNCTION
Day to day substitute, responsible to the Senior Custodian and works in liaison with the building principal and Director of Maintenance for providing services, which will afford students a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, plan and develop. Day to Day Assignment as Needed (Locations Vary)
DUTIES:
Responsible for all general cleaning and maintenance of his job. Performs cleaning services as necessary. Assists in snow removal, as needed. Cleans and maintains all tools and equipment. Assumes responsibility for general security of the building. Follows a work schedule assigned by the Director of Maintenance, Building Principal and/or Senior Custodian.
Daily:
Sweep floors, empty waste paper baskets, dust ledges, windowsills, bookcases, clean glass partitions, sinks and lavatories. Washes, waxes and seals floors according to prescribed procedures and schedules. Performs other general related tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Maintenance. Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician. Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports. Demonstrates aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks. Must demonstrate neatness in appearance and work. Good moral character. Must be physically able to perform tasks which at times may require lifting and carrying of materials weighing as much as fifty (50) pounds or more.
