Job Description

Town of Belmont Employment Opportunity The Town of Belmont is now accepting applications for the position of:
ASSISTANT CUSTODIAN - HIGH SCHOOL AFSCME CLASS C
Hourly Starting Rate:
$26.21 Shift Hours 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Night Differential will Apply It is the expectation that the successful candidate will provide general custodial service to the school building, including but not limited to: Opening/Closing building-Assure the building is secure, locked, alarmed at shift end Overall cleaning of the building's interior and exterior Replenishing supplies Room set-ups/take downs Oversee evening contractors Utilize an automated work order system General maintenance and repair Outdoor grounds maintenance and snow removal. Qualifications include demonstrated ability in custodial work, mechanical and general maintenance. Working knowledge in equipment operation. Proven successful interaction with students, staff, vendors and parents. This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement with the AFSCME and qualifies for the Town's comprehensive benefits package, working 40 hours weekly,evening shift 3:00PM to 11:00 PM Resumes with the required Town of Belmont Application accepted at the HR Department, 455 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA 02478 or . Applicants may attach resumes to the Town application form as additional information but cannot use this in lieu of completing the required form. Some full-time and some part-time employees will need to complete a pre-employment physical with drug-screening examination, fingerprinting and SORI clearance. All positions will also require a CORI criminal background screening. The Town reserves the right to modify the application deadline and/or accept applications after the deadline in order to best serve the interest of the community. After the submission deadline, the Human Resources Department and a review committee will review all completed applications and will select the most highly-qualified respondents for interviews. The Town will acknowledge receipt of completed applications that it receives and will only further contact individuals who the Town selects to interview.
