Janitor - Union (Seasonal)

Summary:

Keeps public premises of transit areas in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Pay Rate:

$24.70/hourly

Required Experiences/Skillset:

Janitorial background Proof of skillset certifications encouraged Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned areas. Wipes and dusts surfaces. Sweeps, mops, and Vacuums floors. Shampoos rugs. Power washes station floors and walls. Stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms. Picks up and empties trash containers. Notifies maintenance if something is not working properly or is in disrepair. Cleans and disinfects bathrooms. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills:

Technical skills necessary to utilize a tablet or smartphone.
