Performs general janitorial and required custodial work involved with the cleaning and maintenance of the Campus. Works under the supervision of the Facilities Director and Night Supervisor who reviews performance for efficiency and compliance with instructions. Cleans offices, rooms, corridors and other areas in need of upkeep. Washes windows, woodwork, lavatories, washrooms and fixtures. Dusts and polishes furniture. Empties and cleans waste baskets, barrels, garbage cans and other waste/recyclables and trash receptacles. Locks and unlocks premises and performs other similar security tasks, brings in flags when necessary, checks lights, etc. Sweeps and/or shovels, and sands/salts stairs and walks when applicable from snow storms. Assists in keeping immediate and adjacent outside premises in an orderly condition. Responsible for the continuous functioning of lighting fixtures via the replacement of bulbs and reporting malfunctions. Makes general simple repairs. Assist in painting buildings and equipment repairs in some circumstances. May be required to assist in any projects associated with maintenance of a school building as assigned by the supervisor. And as outlined in Article IV E of the BCAHS Support Staff Association contract. Considerable knowledge of materials, equipment and methods commonly employed in housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance operations. Some experience of janitorial/custodial duties. Working knowledge of simple maintenance work. Working knowledge of the type, properties, quality and uses of cleaning supplies and equipment and their effect on the various types of construction and finishes. Ability to operate and care for cleaning equipment. Ability to make general repairs of a simple nature. Ability and attitude to follow oral and written instructions. Physical ability to withstand strain of performing manual tasks, i.e.: move books, furniture desks, tables etc. As per 7 Step County pay scale
- Job Group 7. Paid earned sick leave, vacations, holidays and personal days as per Bristol County Agricultural H.S. Support Staff Association/MTA Contract. Work day and year as per contract. Work hours during school days, approximately 184 days, are 3:00 p.m.

- Friday. During the summer months this may change to 7:00 a.m.
