Job Description

At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range for this position is $18.29 - $27.17, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth. Eligible employees may also participate in comprehensive benefits, including health coverage, paid time off, and wage increase programs, depending on position type (full-time, part-time, or per diem) and applicable eligibility criteria.
Position Summary:
EVS Associate III, Environmental Services. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas, including patient rooms, bathrooms, floors, and furnishings, using proper chemicals and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Prepares solutions and equipment to refinish floors, clean walls, extract carpets and furniture, and clean windows, ceilings, vents, and HVAC surfaces. Performs assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision and completes duties within designated timeframes. Utilizes equipment such as buffing machines, burnishers, vacuum cleaners, wall and window cleaning equipment according to established standards. Performs tasks requiring the use of ladders, including the removal and installation of drapes, curtains, shades, and cubicles as requested. Obtains supplies and equipment at the beginning of each shift and properly stores them at the end of each shift. Cleans and inspects all equipment after each use and reports and labels broken or malfunctioning equipment before the end of the shift. Assists supervisors with room set-ups, furniture moves, and rearrangement of equipment and furnishings. Completes all other duties as assigned.
Unit-Specific Competencies:
Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with established departmental policies. Handles and disposes of biohazardous waste and sharps according to departmental procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of the proper use and dilution of cleaning chemicals. Demonstrates appropriate and safe use of equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of proper body mechanics when lifting or moving heavy objects. Demonstrates knowledge of proper handwashing techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
