This role is essential to the daily operations of the zoo, ensuring that restrooms, and buildings are clean and in excellent condition throughout the day. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize public restrooms, and buildings. Empty trash and recycling bins and transport waste to designated areas Sweep, mop, and pressure wash surfaces as needed Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Clean glass, windows, railings, and signage to maintain clear visibility for guests Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or other cleaning needs throughout the grounds Assist with seasonal or special event cleanup Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors Qualifications Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Reliable attendance and punctuality Work Environment Primarily outdoor setting with exposure to weather, animals, and large crowds May occasionally work in indoor facilities or staff-only areas Weekend work is required; occasional holiday shifts may be needed Compensation & Benefits Hourly wage: $16.00 Opportunities for additional hours during peak seasons Employee perks such as zoo admission passes or discounts
