Open until filled Position Opening Custodial Summer Help - Temporary Per Diem Assignment Winchendon Public Schools Winchendon Public Schools is seeking four (4) dependable individuals to assist with summer custodial work throughout the District. Position Summary:
Summer custodial help will assist the Facilities Department with cleaning, organizing, moving, and preparing school buildings for the upcoming school year. Duties may include general custodial tasks, classroom cleaning, floor care preparation, moving furniture and supplies, trash removal, painting and other related work as assigned by the Facilities Director or designee. Essential Duties:
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas Moving furniture, boxes, supplies, and equipment Assisting with summer cleaning projects and building preparation Removing trash and recycling Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting Assisting with floor care and other custodial projects Performing light maintenance tasks, such as painting, touch-up painting, assembling or moving furniture, and other basic building support tasks Reporting maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor Performing other related duties as assigned Qualifications:
The successful candidate should: Be reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions Be able to work independently and as part of a team Be able to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and carrying items Be willing to work in school buildings during the summer cleaning period Maintain a professional and respectful manner in a school environment Prior custodial, maintenance, painting, or facilities experience is preferred but not required. The employee may be required to reach with hands and arms above their head or reach forward, sit, squat, stoop or kneel. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Hours:
As needed, beginning June 23, 2026, and ending August 21, 2026. Employment is temporary and per diem, with no guarantee of continued employment beyond the assignment period. Final employment is subject to successful completion of all required pre-employment requirements, including CORI and fingerprinting, as applicable. Salary:
