Job Description

Job Overview A Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall condition of residential, commercial, or mixed-use properties. Porter services help ensure that common areas remain clean, organized, and presentable while providing routine support for property management and maintenance operations. Responsibilities Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, and amenity spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize interior and exterior common areas. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas. Pick up litter and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, landscaped areas, and building entrances. Monitor property conditions and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, vandalism, or damage to management. Assist with move-in and move-out preparations by cleaning vacant units and common areas. Restock restroom and janitorial supplies as needed. Clean windows, doors, railings, mailrooms, and other high-touch surfaces. Set up and break down community rooms or common areas for meetings and events. Remove snow and apply ice melt to sidewalks, entrances, and designated walkways when required. Support maintenance staff with general labor, material handling, and property inspections. Maintain janitorial equipment and ensure cleaning supplies are properly stored. Provide courteous assistance to residents, tenants, visitors, and property staff while maintaining a professional appearance. Hours of operation 7am-4pm(1hr lunch) Mon-Fri. Can be asked to work on Sat and Sun sometimes.
