Regular - Part-time; non-exempt (25 hours/week)
Pay Rate:
$15.00/hour This position is responsible for: Maintaining a clean working environment for all staff and visitors at the Salvation Army building and grounds, promoting health and safety. Duties mostly include helping with donations, cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping, and mopping the floors, doing dishes, wiping down tables and taking out the trash from the Summer Day Camp. Duties also include picking up and taking out trash, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning, and stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows and mirrors, and performing minor building repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies. Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors. Cleans windows, dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures. Empties trash cans daily, collect trash from grounds, and sweeps outside walkways. Maintains boiler room, maintenance closets, and ensures all storage areas are orderly and clean. Assists in performing building maintenance, painting, and repair work Opens/closes building, as scheduled or needed. Assist in monitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order and replace light bulbs, as necessary. Assists in performing building maintenance, painting, and repair work. Cleans and maintains Salvation Army property to include gymnasium and surrounding areas. Use the Salvation Army vehicle to pick up and/or deliver miscellaneous items or to transport passengers, as needed Assist in setting up tables and chairs for meeting rooms and special events.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials, supplies, and equipment (over 50 lbs.) frequently. Heavy mobility duties requiring frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, and reaching. Ability to transport merchandise and supplies regularly. Work may involve operating a vehicle. Requires physical energy to perform housekeeping, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat (above 100°) and cold (below 32°) for periods longer than one hour. Exposure to environmental factors such as wind, humidity, and noise (requiring raised voice to be heard). Work may involve hazards, including moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical currents, chemicals, high places, and high heat. Duties are performed in environments that may require use of cleaning agents and equipment. Conditions may involve physically demanding and repetitive tasks throughout the workday.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience High School Diploma, or GED AND one (1) year experience performing general housekeeping duties; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses and Certifications Valid State Driver's License, preferred.
