Job Description

Position Overview The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep and readiness of the school campus. Responsibilities include light maintenance, coordination with vendors, support of daily operations such as lunch delivery, and preparation for school events. The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, organized, and willing to step in where needed while maintaining professionalism and positive relationships within the school community. This is a full-time, 12-month position beginning Summer 2026. Key Responsibilities Campus Operations & Daily Support Receive and organize daily lunch deliveries from vendors and ensure smooth distribution Set up, break down, and clean up for lunch and school events Support school events, including occasional evening and weekend responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared spaces throughout the day Respond to immediate campus needs as they arise during the school day Maintenance & Facilities Care Perform light maintenance including minor repairs, furniture adjustments, and general upkeep Move furniture and equipment as needed to support classroom and event needs Clean and maintain bathrooms and common areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment Safety & Campus Readiness Monitor playgrounds and outdoor spaces to ensure safety and readiness for student use Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, and families Supplies & Coordination Maintain supplies and manage ordering of materials, including paper products and essential items Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers as needed Partner with the evening cleaning crew to ensure continuity of care for the campus Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 3 to 5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related field preferred Ability to perform light maintenance and basic repairs Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment and materials as needed Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Flexibility to support occasional evenings and weekend events Desired Qualities Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment Strong attention to detail Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented Professional and respectful in all interactions Supportive of the Episcopal identity and mission of the school Committed to building a community grounded in respect, inclusion, and belonging Why Join St. John's?
