Description:
Oneida Professional Services is seeking a Property Book Custodian to support the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Technology & Logistics Support Services contract at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position is responsible for maintaining accountability of government property, equipment, and assets while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense property management regulations and procedures. The successful candidate will manage property book operations, inventory control processes, equipment accountability, and logistics support activities. The Property Book Custodian will work closely with government personnel, supply representatives, and end users to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and support the lifecycle management of government-owned equipment and assets. This position is contingent on the award of a federal contract Key Responsibilities Maintain accountability and accurate records for government property, equipment, and assets in accordance with established regulations and procedures. Perform property book management functions, including asset tracking, inventory reconciliation, and equipment accountability activities. Conduct periodic inventories, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with property management requirements. Utilize automated property management and database systems to input, retrieve, update, and maintain property records. Manage and track equipment transfers, receipts, turn-ins, disposals, and other asset lifecycle activities. Support logistics and supply management functions related to government-owned property and equipment. Prepare reports, correspondence, documentation, and records associated with property accountability and inventory management. Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, property record issues, and accountability concerns. Coordinate with government personnel, supply activities, and end users to ensure accurate property records and compliance with applicable regulations. Provide recommendations to improve property accountability processes and inventory management practices.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications Experience supporting property book operations, supply systems, logistics management, or inventory control functions. Extensive knowledge of Department of Defense property management principles, regulations, and supply systems. Experience utilizing automated recordkeeping systems and database management applications. Working knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures. Experience with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and/or Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS). Proficiency using computers and standard office software to manage records, prepare reports, and maintain documentation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with personnel at all organizational levels to resolve discrepancies and support mission requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Department of Defense, military, or federal government property management programs. Experience conducting property inventories, audits, and equipment accountability reviews. Familiarity with government logistics, warehousing, and supply chain operations. Experience supporting educational, training, or technical environments with significant equipment accountability requirements. Relevant logistics, supply, or property management certifications.
