PARISH CANTON MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE
The Maintenance Associate is responsible for sharing the responsibility with the Maintenance Engineer, of providing for cleaning, maintenance, upkeep and security of parish facilities, equipment and grounds. This is a forty (40) hour per week non-exempt position. Qualified candidates should submit a letter of interest and a resume to .
Position Responsibilities :
Custodial Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of kitchens, bathrooms, windows, floors, etc. Empty trash cans in offices, kitchens, bathrooms; take trash/recycling outside to designated storage areas. Dust all furniture and baseboards in public areas; mop floors. Maintain all cleaning supplies, vacuums, floor scrubber, etc. in proper order; store in designated storage area. Remove snow from sidewalks; salt as needed. Maintain required logs for snow removal, etc. Maintain designated areas of lawn - mowing, edging, etc.
Other Responsibilities:
Responsible to open and close the building; set alarm. Assist staff with event set-up and take-down of tables, chairs, technology, etc. Address maintenance concerns raised by staff via Work Order Form. As time permits, perform light skilled labor projects - painting, carpentry, gutter cleaning, etc. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
Practicing Catholic and/or demonstrated knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church. Full compliance with the Safe Environments requirements. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to work alone or unsupervised; ability to serve collaboratively with parish staff. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding parish and parishioner information and matters. Ability to understand a variety of technical trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, janitorial care, heating and cooling, etc. preferred.
