Job Description

Position Summary The Sanitation Laborer is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, processing areas, and facility surfaces to ensure a safe and sanitary food manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with company sanitation standards, food safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and sanitize production equipment, conveyors, tanks, floors, walls, and other facility areas according to established sanitation procedures. Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning. Operate cleaning and sanitation equipment safely and effectively. Use approved cleaning chemicals and follow all safety instructions and chemical handling procedures. Remove waste, debris, and product residue from production areas. Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met. Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and other required documentation accurately. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety policies, and company procedures. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or sanitation deficiencies to the supervisor. Assist with additional cleaning or production support tasks as assigned. Qualifications Previous sanitation, janitorial, or food manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in wet, humid, hot, and cold environments. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
