Job Title:
DAYTIME CUSTODIAN
Lead the custodial operations to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role coordinates daily custodial activities, communicates with custodial staff, and manages cleaning supplies and equipment. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate with staff, solve problems efficiently, and maintain high standards for building cleanliness and safety. Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D) (required) Ability to proficiently use basic technology (email, calendar) and web-based applications Ability to routinely lift, push, throw, stack, carry, and move 50 lbs History of good time management and good attendance (required) Experience in all phases of cleaning and basic building maintenance (preferred) Essential Functions:
Ability to perform routine cleaning and maintenance activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, removing trash, and maintaining clean, sanitized restrooms Strong customer service skills, with the ability to support district staff and community members in the setup, operation, and cleanup of equipment, furniture, and additional resources used in classrooms, meeting rooms, athletic events, and special programs Willingness and ability to support school activities by implementing routine cleaning and maintenance processes Ability to create and maintain a positive and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors Excellent independent work skills, with the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision Ability to operate snow removal, salting, and ground maintenance equipment Ability to safely use ladders, and basic hand and power tools Ability to operate floor scrubbing, waxing, carpet extraction, and disinfecting equipment Ability to perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment Ability to order and restock materials needed for the upkeep of the school Ability to conduct routine inspections of building spaces to assess cleanliness and document needed maintenance or repairs Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, overtime hours, and some weekends Commitment to maintaining a safe, secure building and work environment Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Willingness and ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance Ability to perform other duties as assigned Location:
