Job Description Student Cleaner Adopted/Amended 5/18; 10/19 Reviewed Building Maintenance Building Department Maintenance Services Reports To Physical Plant Management General Function The Student Cleaner shall be responsible to assist Housekeepers in maintaining the appearance, cleanliness and sanitation of areas assigned to them by the Physical Plant Management and/or building administrator. Qualifications Shall have at least a high school education. Shall demonstrate consistent promptness and dependability. Shall be physically capable of performing all assigned duties. Shall be able to follow safety and appearance guidelines. Shall be able to pass a physical examination. Shall have transportation to/from work. Shall be willing to accept varied job assignments and participate in training to operate equipment. Shall be able to lift 50 lbs. Essential Duties Essential duties shall include, but not be limited to: Assist housekeepers in light duty work including general cleaning, refilling and inspecting all soap and paper dispensers, dusting filing cabinets, counter tops, locker tops and ledges, cleaning walls, windows and glass display cases, polishing metal surfaces, dust mopping or vacuuming rooms and hallways assigned, spot washing walls, performing carpet cleaning and maintaining classroom and office cleanliness. Assist housekeepers with snow and litter removal around building entrances when necessary. Assist in the maintenance of housekeeping equipment and keeping custodial/housekeeping closets in a clean and orderly fashion. Assist in sanding, painting and refinishing. Assist in summer cleaning tasks, including but not limited to scrubbing, stripping and finishing of floors. Complete work requests for building upkeep via the SchoolDude online work order system. Assist groups using meeting rooms as needed, including room set ups and refreshments. Provide feedback to the Physical Plant Management on supplies and equipment to provide the most cost- effective and efficient operation possible. Responsible for securing buildings at the end of shift. Act as a resource, if needed, to employees, students and the general public visiting the NC RESA. Possess knowledge of NC RESA's organization, mission and philosophy. Perform any additional duties required by Physical Plant Management and/or the building administrator.

Student Cleaner Page 2 Relationships and Commitment The student cleaner shall be directly accountable to Physical Plant Management and/or building administrator and shall demonstrate commitment to the mission of the Newaygo County RESA through: adherence to and enforcement of agency policies and administrative regulations, performance resulting in quality outcomes, performance resulting in internal and external consumer satisfaction, continuous personal and professional improvement and development, positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and consumers, continuously improving performance through internal and external evaluation, exhibiting the mental/physical ability and stamina to meet essential duties of the position, and supporting the agency and department in the Continuous Improvement Plan, including all guiding principles and strategic directions. Other Required Skills Must be able to communicate effectively (language skills). Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts (mathematical skills). Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (reasoning skills). Must be physically able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job (physical demands). When working in the buildings, the noise level may be loud, and at meetings moderate.
