Job Description

We are excited to be hiring an additional member for our janitorial team! This position offers a consistent, year-round, part-time schedule providing morning facility cleaning for a large retail store in Muskegon, MI. The specific scope of work is as follows: Daily cleaning of two main restrooms (men's and women's, eight stalls each), two small single stall family restrooms, daily floor scrubbing of roughly 1/4 of the store sales floor utilizing a ride-on floor scrubber machine, intermittent/easy maintenance duties of the floor scrubber, and laundering the dirty cleaning rags. This is a DAILY morning shift with a flexible start time (5:30 AM to 8:00 AM). You can choose when you would like to arrive each morning between 5:30 AM and 8:30 AM as long as you are on site and clocked in by 8;30 AM. Daily work duties will typically take 2.25

5 hours to complete but you will be guaranteed pay for 4 hours every day! Schedule consists of Monday through Sunday (seven days per week), ~2.5 hours each day, with days off schedulable in advance by request. Ideally, candidates will assist in finding someone else local (friend, family, etc.) whom they trust to cover for them on requested days off (because this account is managed from over 200 miles away). This is a great position for candidates who may have busy commitments outside of work. It is also a great position for students that want a well-paying job that is easy to schedule into their daily routine, or semi-retired individuals who would like a job that doesn't require tedious 8 hour shifts.
VERY IMPORTANT
We manage this store from over 200 miles away, so we are looking for someone dependable who will take ownership of the position and responsibility for making sure the store is in good shape daily. It is very important to our contract that the store is cleaned every day! If emergency situations arise where you can't be on-site, we expect clear and timely communication and assistance in finding someone to cover for you (can be a friend, family member, etc.). Compensation is based on experience and performance, and starts at $18.00/hr. ($72.00 guaranteed per shift.)

  • Reliability and trustworthiness (absolutely key to the position! Must be dependable and willing to work mornings, seven days per week. Days off are schedulable in advance, especially if you help find someone to cover for you. Clear communication of any issues showing up to work is expected!)

  • General problem solving skills (for performing troubleshooting and maintenance tasks of the floor scrubber machine)
