Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Environmental Services Technician to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across our facilities. Your proactive approach to cleaning and sanitation will ensure that our spaces meet the highest standards of hygiene, supporting the health and well-being of staff, patients, visitors, and the community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a clean and safe environment while developing valuable skills in environmental services and custodial work. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of all designated areas, including patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Follow established protocols for infection control and safety procedures in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces. Restock supplies like paper towels, soap dispensers, and other consumables to ensure continuous availability. Properly handle waste disposal and hazardous materials according to safety guidelines to prevent contamination or accidents. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and safety checks for accountability and quality assurance. Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas are maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to cleaning and environmental services. Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, buffing, or carpet extraction is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Good physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout shifts. Previous experience in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
