Job Description
Job Summary Join our educational community as a School Custodian, where your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of school facilities, creating an inspiring space conducive to learning and growth. Your proactive maintenance and janitorial skills will help foster a positive atmosphere that supports student success and staff efficiency. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other school areas to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety Conduct routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces Handle custodial responsibilities such as trash removal, restocking supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas to prevent the spread of germs Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, and performing basic repairs to ensure operational efficiency Support industrial cleaning projects when necessary, including deep cleaning of large spaces or specialized equipment Maintain cleanliness logs and report any facility issues or safety hazards promptly for swift resolution Collaborate with school staff to coordinate cleaning schedules around daily activities and special events Requirements Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services within commercial or residential settings Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and facilities maintenance practices Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, vacuums, and pressure washers safely and effectively Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, bending, and climbing ladders Bolier Tech License is preferred Join us in creating a clean and inviting school environment where students can thrive!
