Position Summary :
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility and grounds. This position supports daily operations by ensuring all workspaces, common areas, restrooms, and exterior areas are properly cleaned and maintained. The Custodian performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and facility upkeep while adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility. Dust and clean surfaces including desks, windowsills, walls, ceilings, equipment, and air vents. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, partitions, and floors. Clean windows, doors, glass surfaces, and other common areas. Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste materials. Replenish restroom and facility supplies, including soap, paper products, and cleaning materials. Maintain cleanliness of break rooms, offices, meeting rooms, and production support areas. Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies. Maintain cleanliness of building grounds, walkways, entrances, and exterior areas. Assist with seasonal facility needs, including snow removal, ice control, and general grounds maintenance as assigned. Identify and report facility maintenance needs and safety concerns. Operate custodial equipment, forklifts, and manlifts safely and efficiently. Clean and maintain custodial equipment and notify supervision of equipment malfunctions or repair needs. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer recommendations and company policies.

Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and sit for extended periods of time. Frequently the employees are required to use their hands and fingers to handle or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee is required to stand and walk, lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic computer skills Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facility maintenance experience preferred. Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies, and safe chemical handling practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to obtain and maintain forklift and manlift certification.
