Job Description

Trinity Lutheran Church is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to join our team. In this role, you will be essential to ensuring our congregation and visitors experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Working closely with our Lead Custodian, you will maintain both the interior and exterior of our church facilities to support our vibrant community ministries.
Key Responsibilities Interior Care & Hospitality Facility Cleaning :
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust church spaces to ensure a clean, pleasing presentation.
Restroom Maintenance :
Clean and sanitize restrooms daily while proactively replenishing essential supplies.
Waste Management :
Empty all indoor waste and recycling receptacles regularly.
Event Setup :
Arrange rooms and halls for meetings, services, and special events based on group leader specifications.
Exterior Care & Grounds Maintenance Seasonal Groundskeeping :
Perform routine yard work and seasonal outdoor upkeep.
Snow & Ice Removal :
Shovel and clear sidewalks using a snowblower to ensure safe building access.
Operations & Facility Support Team Collaboration :
Coordinate daily with the Lead Custodian for special projects and assignments.
Building Security :
Manage the opening and closing of the church facilities on rotating weekends and on an as-needed basis.
Minor Repairs :
Perform minor facility maintenance tasks and troubleshoot basic building needs.
Equipment Care :
Ensure all custodial tools and machinery are well-maintained and kept in good repair.
Shift & Schedule Details Weekly Hours :
12 hours per week standard.
Suggested Core Schedule :
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Weekend Flexibility :
Must be available to open and close the building on rotating weekends and for special church occasions.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
