Essential Functions:
Complies with all School District and OSHA policies. The Custodial Night Lead assumes charge of the building when the Custodian Lead VI is not on site. Assist Facilities Manager in scheduling and training of staff as needed or directed. Provides and assigns additional work direction and assistance to custodial staff as approved by Assistant Facilities Manager or the Custodian Lead VI. Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment performs janitorial duties. Ensures building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to Assistant Facilities Manager and Building Principal. Operates motorized equipment used for cleaning and snow removal. Removal of snow/ice and application of snow melt around the building to insure safety. Maintains inventory for cleaning supplies/equipment and informs Custodian Lead VI when items are needed. Provides instructions for nightly special event set ups and assigns appropriate coverage with the Custodian Lead VI's prior approval. Performs a variety of cleaning and semi-skilled duties which includes but is not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, washing tables, windows, bathrooms, dusting, waxing, stripping floors, moving heavy furniture, etc. Moves up to 50 pounds of project materials and/or tools to remote building locations. Erect and stand on scaffolding, ladders, and platform lifts, at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods of time. Performs essential maintenance to the facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: reaching, crouching; kneeling; shoveling; working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back. Works under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, Assistant Facilities Manager, Building Principal and the Chief Operations Officer. Performs other duties within the level of responsibility assigned by the Assistant Facilities Manager.
License Requirement :
Minnesota Driver's License High School Diploma or GED required Special boiler's license required.
Required Skills:
3-5 years custodial leadership experience in a school setting. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Exceptional customer service skills. High School diploma or GED required. Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to work effectively with others and utilize effective team-building skills Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Basic understanding of the upkeep, care and safe operation of motorized equipment used for cleaning i.e. auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, genie lift, pressure washer, extractors, sweeper, Kaivac, etc. Able and willing to use a backpack vacuum for cleaning is required.
