Possible shift hours:
2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.; actual hours may vary depending on needs. The starting hourly rate is $22.35 an hour and there is a $0.85 hourly shift differential. Nature of Work Incumbents are responsible for performing basic custodial work in assigned area. Responsibilities may include:
sweeping and mopping floors; emptying garbage; cleaning classrooms, restrooms and hallways; and setting up and breaking down rooms. Typical Class Responsibilities Performs a variety of custodial duties including: stripping, buffing, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, vacuuming, and mopping of floors; cleaning windows and louvers; cleaning and sanitizing sinks, counters, drinking fountains, glass, restroom(s), toilets, and urinals; washing walls, woodwork, chalkboards, baseboards, doors, and handles; and cleaning carpet. Collects and disposes of trash and recycling items. Operates and maintains a variety of cleaning and/or maintenance equipment and tools. Monitors supply and inventory levels and notifies appropriate individual of the need to replenish items; restocks supplies and/or inventory items upon receipt; and prevents the waste or careless use of supplies, equipment, and utilities. Sets up, moves, rearranges, and breaks down furniture and equipment. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Training and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). One year of relevant experience performing similar duties. Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
