Lead Custodian at Marion Elementary School
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Over 1 year up to and including 2 years' experience. Must possess excellent organizational skills. Position requires interaction with all levels of staff. Exceptional knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and floor cleaning machinery. JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE
: Lead Custodian Maintains the assigned physical facility in an operating condition that allows for the full educational program to function.
REPORTS TO
: Custodial Supervisor EXAMPLE(S) of
WORK PERFORMED
: Performs all work elements of the Custodian position, plus: Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of the custodial staff. Provides hands on instruction to all assigned custodians in proper cleaning methods and procedures. Monitors and controls daily supply usage. Performs weekly equipment checks to maintain equipment in good working order. Verifies that assigned custodians wear proper uniform. Supervises custodial coverage for public functions. Checks time cards and reports daily attendance. Attends head custodian meetings and communicates building needs to the Manager of Custodial Services. Clean areas not cleaned by subordinates. Performs other related work as assigned.

: Physical Demands (Strength) Exerts 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or Exerts 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or Exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force often to move objects.
Vocational Preparation :
(Experience) Over 1 year up to and including 2 years.
Education Preparation :
(Formal and Informal) Deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variable in or from these situations encountered on the job. Add and subtract two digit numbers. Compare similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Print simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and series of numbers, names, and addresses. Speak simple sentences, using normal word order, and present and past tenses.
