Custodian

Set rooms for yearly camps, conferences, and other events, as requested. Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, extract carpets throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Move furniture, equipment, materials, and perform other general maintenance. Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and clean drinking fountains. Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Remove trash and debris from building to dumpster. Clean entry ways, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents. Replace light bulbs, as needed. Dust furniture, spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames, as needed. Snow removal, as required. Report to the Physical Plant by job request anything that needs repairing or replacing. Perform additional duties, as assigned by administrative or supervising personnel. Assist or relieve relief custodian, as assigned.

Service, clean, and disinfect apartments and dorm public areas including: restrooms, offices, lounges, laundry rooms, kitchens, stairwells, halls and clean drinking fountains. Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Remove trash and debris from building to dumpster. Clean entry way, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents. Replace light bulbs, as needed. Dust furniture, spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames, as needed. Perform additional duties, as assigned by administrative or supervising personnel. Assist or relieve relief custodian, as assigned. Clean and set rooms for yearly camps, conferences, and other events, as requested. Report to the Main Office by:•10% Job request anything that needs repairing or replacing. Snow Removal, as required

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

Previous custodial experience preferred Safety and Specialty Certifications within one year of employment, to include: Personal protective equipment, blood born pathogens, hazardous materials, hazardous communications, wall and upholstery cleaning, hard floor surfacing, gym floors, asbestos awareness, lock-out/tag-out, carpet care, etc

Physical Requirements:

Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals, Exposure to heights, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight)•50 lbs. Ability to read labels, written instructions and recognize safety symbols. Ability to operate buffers, scrubbers, burnishers, extractors and other custodial equipment. Visual ability to clean to established performance levels.

Monday•Friday 7am•3:30pm
