Job Description

Environmental Services (EVS) Technician responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout hospital and clinic facilities. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas in accordance with infection control and safety standards. Performs waste removal, floor care, linen handling, and restocking of supplies while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, OSHA regulations, and patient privacy standards. Provides courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff while supporting overall facility operations and patient care.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate effectively and frequently with nursing staff regarding patient rooms and with employees in support areas concerning cleaning needs. Ability to perform standardized cleaning procedures and successfully complete assigned duties following orientation and six (6) weeks of on-the-job training. Experience preferred in the operation of extractors, buffers, and burnishers.
Physical Demands:
Requires heavy physical effort, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Prolonged and extensive standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and other physical activities required to perform job duties.
