Job Description

Piedmont Metals is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facilities Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment throughout our Burlington facilities. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces to ensure a positive environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works independently with minimal supervision, and is committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety across multiple facilities. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, conference rooms, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain facility floors and surfaces. Empty trash and recycling containers throughout both facility locations. Clean glass, windows, doors, and other high-touch surfaces. Restock restroom, breakroom, and janitorial supplies. Maintain janitorial closets and storage areas in a clean and organized manner. Perform routine inspections to ensure facilities meet cleanliness standards. Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and supply needs to management. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed. Travel between Burlington facility locations as required. Assist with special cleaning projects and facility support tasks as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or related experience. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision. Good organizational and time management skills. Reliable transportation to travel between Burlington facilities as needed. Preferred Experience cleaning manufacturing, industrial, office, healthcare, educational, or commercial facilities. Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment. Experience maintaining cleaning supply inventories. Experience working independently and managing cleaning schedules. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and proper use of cleaning chemicals. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, and procedures. Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and janitorial supplies. Strong attention to detail and quality of work. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently. Ability to identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns. Ability to maintain confidentiality when working in office and administrative areas. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Strong work ethic and sense of ownership. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and facility needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing cleaning duties. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds regularly. Ability to operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, mops, brooms, floor scrubbers, and related tools. Ability to climb stairs and safely use step stools or ladders when necessary. Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, shoulders, and back. Ability to work safely around cleaning chemicals and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments. Work Schedule Full-time position. Eight (8) hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Initial training will be conducted on first shift. Overtime may be required based on business needs. What Success Looks Like Clean, organized, and professional-looking facilities.
