Immediately Job Description Head Custodian 12 Month Position Reports to: Principal or Assistant Principal

Purpose:

An employee in this class performs a variety of manual activities cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the school. The employee performs a variety of duties in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency required Must hold valid NC Driver's License Custodial experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions Skills and knowledge in the use of custodial equipment used in routine cleaning

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning and sanitizing of building daily and as needed General cleaning, including moping, sweeping, vacuuming Scrub and clean rest rooms Use of a variety of floor cleaning custodial equipment (scrubber and burnisher) Ensure grounds are cleared of debris on a daily basis Check all fire extinguishers and exit and emergency lights for safety inspections Maintain and upkeep of custodial equipment Maintain custodial inventory and order supplies as necessary Assist with onboarding and training of new custodians
