Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a part-time custodian. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Flexible hours range from 20 to 30 hours per week, with some weekend, early-morning, and evening hours required. A competitive salary and benefits are offered. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all areas In the church building and Outreach Center including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct routine floor care such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing. Handle janitorial duties including trash removal, restocking supplies, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold health standards. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, or minor repairs as needed. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and storage areas, ensuring all tools are properly stored and maintained. Preparation and cleanup of spaces for church events Some outside work including trash pickup, shoveling and de-icing walkways Work in a collaborative and collegial manner with other employees and the Pastor, and promote an atmosphere of openness, inclusiveness, friendliness, helpfulness, and cooperation with the other Employees, Pastors, Church members, and the public at large. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care methods including buffing and polishing. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders if necessary.
