BORDENTOWN REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
Custodian Position The Bordentown Regional School District is seeking a reliable and hardworking Daytime Custodian to assist in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and daily operation of an assigned school building during active school hours. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and responsive environment to support students, staff, and visitors.
Start Date :
July 1, 2026 or until filled Key Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, hallways, and common areas throughout the school day Provide continuous support during school hours by addressing immediate cleaning and maintenance needs Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and restroom sanitation Assist with setup and breakdown for school activities, lunch periods, and special events Monitor building conditions and report maintenance issues to supervisory staff Perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned Replenish custodial supplies such as paper products and soap dispensers throughout the day Ensure safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals in compliance with Right-to-Know (RTK) and Hazard Communication standards Maintain safe and orderly conditions in high-traffic areas during school hours Assist with exterior upkeep including entrances and walkways as needed Support snow removal and emergency assignments when required
Qualifications Include:
High school diploma or equivalent required Low Pressure Boiler License required (or willing to obtain during the first year) Previous custodial or facilities experience preferred Ability to work independently and respond promptly to building needs Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and equipment use Valid New Jersey driver's license preferred Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks Strong work ethic and reliability
